Privacy policy

This policy explains what personal data we process when you use Casino Quarter and the rights you have under UK GDPR.

1. Data controller

The data controller is Casino Quarter (casinoquarter.co.uk), an independent information website, email contact@casinoquarter.co.uk. Contact for data protection matters: contact@casinoquarter.co.uk.

2. Server data

Our hosting provider records technical logs (IP address, browser type, time of request) to keep the website secure and working. Legal basis: legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f)). Logs are kept only as long as security requires, under the hosting provider’s retention settings.

3. The casino finder

Distances are calculated in your browser. If you enter a postcode, your browser sends it directly to postcodes.io to turn it into coordinates; we do not receive or store it. If you choose “Use my location”, your browser asks for permission and the location stays on your device.

4. Age confirmation

When you choose “I am 18 or older”, your browser stores the date of that confirmation locally (cq_age) so you are not asked again for 12 months. It is never sent to us.

4a. Email

If you write to us, we use your address and message only to reply, and keep them for up to 12 months.

5. Analytics

We do not currently use analytics tools or advertising cookies.

6. Your rights

You have the right to access, correct and erase your data, to restrict or object to processing, and to data portability. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk).
